Stenciled concrete is very similar to stamped concrete. It uses the same materials such as color hardeners and antiquing release, and the finished product looks about the same. The important difference is that this process utilizes disposable paper stencils to impart the pattern instead of rubber mats. The pattern choices are more limited with stenciling, but most popular patterns are represented.

Here's how we do it.  stenciling.JPG (76487 bytes)

While the concrete is still wet, the paper stencils are applied to the slab surface and worked in.   Dry shake color hardeners are then applied . After a short set time, an antiquing release agent is spread and the surface is textured with a special texture roller. The stencils are then removed to reveal the pattern and realistic looking gray mortar joints. After the concrete sets sufficiently, the crack control joints are saw cut, and the  slab is cleaned and sealed.
